Sheryl Crow Tickets – Teaming Up To Support Clean Water While On The Road

She’s always been one to naturally soak up the sun, but now Sheryl Crow is acting as spokesperson for a brand that exposes this cause commercially. Pairing up with Crystal Light and the Nature Conservancy, Crow performed March 22nd (World Water Day) at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom to draw media attention to the world’s clean water issues. The event gathered hundreds of fans as the long-time environmentalist called to action one of the world’s most important causes.

Though she’s still promoting her 2008 album Detours, during the Crystal Light event Crow revealed that she’s actually ready to launch a new album, with a premiere during her summer tour. Lining up sporadic dates through Cleveland, Highland Park, Detroit, Milwaukee and others, Crow will continue to add dates as the summer months approach and she finishes up her time in the studio.

The latest release found Crow working with longtime producer and songwriting partner Bill Bottrell, who worked with the country-pop legend on her 1993 debut Tuesday Night Music Club. Just in time for her partnership with Bottrell to come full swing, Crow and A&M Records re-released the album in a two-disc deluxe version. The seven-time platinum set, which gave Crow three Grammy Awards, has remained a staple on her tour, as she sings “All I Wanna Do,” “No One Said it Would Be Easy,” “Leaving Las Vegas,” and “Strong Enough.”

Apart from raising herself with great environmentalist values – Crow grew up in a household that conserved water nonchalantly, she noted during press conferences for the Crystal Light event – she’s also raising her two-year-old with similar persuasions. “My little boy is worried about flushing the toilet- we’re already starting [teaching him to conserve], at two and a half,” she said during promotions. “He already knows not to flush the toilet unless, you know, you have to.”

The Grammy Award winner and long time eco-friendly activist told reporters that she grew up in a household where they “shut off the water when we were brushing our teeth, only ran the dishwasher when it was stuffed, never took 45-minute showers…it’s all simple things that, really, anybody can do.” She hopes that the event brings more awareness to areas that don’t have access to clean water, as she plans to support the cause during the Crystal Light – Nature Conservatory yearlong relationship, while she stays busy with a new studio album, tour and television appearances to boot.
