I have a Wickes 1200w Sliding Compund Mitre Saw stuck in the locked position! PLease help!!!?

NOt mine but my mothers and we cant get it unlocked to use

Usually with a sliding mitre saw there is a locking devise to hold it in the ‘closed position study it to see where it is usually on the slide mechanisim, or call in to your store and ask but be carefull ask some one to show you how to use it safely if you are a novice.
